I’ve always believed a new year doesn’t change anything.
Not your finances, relationship, or spirituality.
I think it could only get worse if you don’t do something ‘drastic’ about it.
I’ve had a lot of people come to me and say, “Hey Phoenixx, I just wrote down my New Year’s goals (AKA New Year's resolution), and I can’t wait for January 2025 to start!”
I’m gonna be straight with you …
If you have any goal worth starting, why not start immediately? Why do you think you have to wait for a certain time of the year to start?
This letter is about a few things:
- My thoughts (written out “loud”)
- My advice for the coming year (if you need it)
- The beginning of another year’s journey together through these letters
For the coming year, you need to decide what type of person you want to become and then take the action that TYPE of person would take.
This would help you align your life with that identity.
If you want to be that version of yourself that:
- Makes $200k/m > Get valuable, get paid then multiply that income
- Owns APPLE, TESLA, or MC DONALD’S > Start buying shares.
Identify the type of person you want to be, and take the action.
The 4-Step Formula:
-Get started
-Eliminate distractions
-Get better
-Never stop
1. Getting Started
This is usually the hardest for some (79% maybe)
I spoke to a friend who wanted to start her restaurant, but this ‘fear’ of starting kept coming up.
Before anything else, I should say this – You’ll always be scared when starting.
The goal isn't big enough if you aren’t ‘scared’.
Back to my friend …
I asked her to tell me why she thought getting into her restaurant seemed impossible.
She mentioned quite a lot of things why, but one stood out — finances.
Now, we sat there for a couple of hours analyzing how she should increase her earnings well over the next 2-3 months [as a chef] to hit the target that will get her restaurant started.
I saw my friend go from being skeptical as hell to eager to start her journey.
If you are afraid to start ask yourself why.
Knowing why helps you understand why you do not jump into your goals and make them come to life.
The WHY is like a roadmap to solving the roadblock that’s stopping you.
Regardless, make sure you GET STARTED.
2. Eliminate distractions
This could be;
- friends [with goals that don’t align with yours]
- addiction [Netflix, idle talks]
- just about anything that takes you away from your main goal
It has never been easier to get distracted, from millions of tiny applications on our devices dragging for attention to just about anything.
The point is that anything that doesn’t help you get closer to your goals should be eliminated, except if you don’t truly desire those goals.
3. Get better
Once in motion, strive to be better.
And not just 2x better aim for 10x.
This isn’t about competing with the guy you think is doing better than you.
I like to think of it as ‘ outperforming myself’.
Look at your previous work rate compared to what you do now and do it 10x better.
I learned this from Alex Hormozi and Grant Cardone.
You aren’t in competition with anyone but your previous results.
4. Never stop
oh, it’s gonna get tough.
You would want to stop for so many valid reasons but if I’ve learned anything from my craziest challenges …
Its stopping means you’d have to start from scratch again, so why stop?
Again, this letter is my thoughts written out loud.
And that’s about it.
In the following week, I will introduce something called - the opportunity pool [TOP] section -to these letters. The TOP section would be a segment of the letter where you get job opportunities in the web3 space. Stay tuned.
Until next time,
Phoenixx.
Thank you for this!
