Seven weeks ago, I knew ABSOLUTELY nothing about coding.
No tech background. No computer science degree.
Not even a clue what a variable meant.
Just a medical-based degree and 5+ years of marketing experience.
And now?
I’m deep into a journey to become a Solidity developer —
writing smart contracts, learning how Web3 works, and trying to build a new life through code, and eventually becoming an auditor.
What Changed?
I hit a breaking point.
I was tired of chasing trends in crypto without understanding the foundation, watching other people build the future while I watched from the sidelines. I felt like I didn’t belong in tech because of my background
So I made a decision:
To start.
To learn.
To fall.
To get back up.
To rise — like the Phoenixx.
What is This Newsletter?
This is not a tutorial.
Not a “how to make $10K in Web3” newsletter.
This is my personal log, written with honesty and vulnerability, as I try to:
Learn Solidity from scratch
Share everything I struggle with (and overcome)
Stay focused in a very distracting space
Turn this learning journey into a full-blown career
Each week, I’ll bring you into my mind, my wins, my doubts, and my discoveries.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re too late, too behind, too unqualified —
Then this newsletter is for you. We’re learning together.
What I’ve Learned in My First 7 Weeks
“I learn in public — not to teach, but to stay alive in the process.”
Here’s what I’ve touched so far:
- Solidity syntax and variables (was a nightmare at first)
- Writing my first contract HelloWorld
on Remix
- Understanding public
, private
, view
, pure
, and constructor
(kinda!)
- The difference between EVM-compatible chains (still fuzzy but improving)
- That it’s okay to cry when nothing compiles
But the biggest lesson?
Consistency > Speed.
I’m not rushing to “become a dev.”
I’m building the identity of someone who keeps showing up.
What to Expect (Video & Written Combo)
Each week, I’ll write this newsletter and drop a video recap — so if you prefer to watch instead of read, I’ve got you covered.
Final Reflection
Most days, I still feel like I’m faking it.
Imposter syndrome shows up a lot.
But every day I open that code editor, even when it scares me — I’m reclaiming a version of myself I used to think I lost.
And I believe — deeply — that this journey will lead to something powerful.
Maybe not tomorrow. But eventually.
If you’re reading this, thank you, You’re witnessing the beginning of a transformation.
Let’s grow. Let’s break things. Let’s become something we never imagined.
See you next Tuesday.
— Phoenixx

Hey Phoenix.
Seems like here is a bit scanty today.
It's a great thing I'm first btw.
Yes I also started learning something new.
Two things actually.
One is Automation, another is Hype reel video edits. (It's a sort of promotional video for projects in web3.
