Today's letter is a short run down of how we can develop self awareness.
'' I am self aware, today's letter isn't for me'' well, if you've got this thought in mind … hold up.
Self awareness isn't as common as we think it … you think you are self aware untill you discover you aren't.
Self awareness is the direct of opposite of Self sabotage … when you are not aware of your own self, you sabotage your own self. ( Make sense?)
Awareness breeds two entities;
Intentionality
Consciousness
These two elements are essential. If you aren't intentional about what you do and what you don't do then there is a problem. Same thing applies to being conscious. In another letter, we would see how important these two elements are in-depth.
How do I develop self awareness?
Self awareness would have you reflect, reflect on things past and even the future. It draws consciousness and programs your mind in a way that allows it handle re-occurance of events.
Here's how you do this:
Step 1: Reflect on a time this week when you were stressed and you reacted negatively to someone else or you were just overthinking.
Step 2: Get a journal or book you'd use to write through out this process.
Step 3: Plug into the topic area what made you overthink or react negatively
Step 4: Start writing, write as it comes to you. Possibly write down everything as it happened and then, how it lead to disrupting your mood.
Step 5: Now, reframe the situation into benefits
Step 6: Understand your own limiting belief in the situation
Step 7: Now, summarize it into one-sentence big-idea that you can refer to when next such an occurrence happens again.
That's it!
All 7 of these steps would take you from not being consicous of your situations to being conscious of happenings around you and how to deal with them properly.
This is a simple but yet powerful therapeutic exercise.
And that's about it!
